Costa Rica

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

I went on holiday to Costa Rica in 2007 on the very first charter flight from the UK. It is an amazing country you can see both the Caribbean and Pacific waves from it highest point. It has everything to offer from lazy days on the beach to flying through the canopies both of which are a real treat.

Beaches are both black volcanic sand and golden white sands. There are loads of wild life in the surrounding areas which are amazing to listen to when relaxing and if you’re lucky one of the locals will take you on a tour and point out all the different species.

For those of you that like an adventure you’re in for an amazing experience as you can walk around the canopies of the rain forest on bridges or have a go at zip lining through them. I did both and loved everything about them. You get to see all different kinds of animals from howler monkeys to blue jeaned frogs. There are many of these canopies throughout the world and I have tried quite a lot of them and I have to say this is the most memorable and I am planning to return this year with my husband to experience it all over again. If your not into heights you can try horse riding and even white water rafting, again I did both and can’t wait to go back to do it all again.

You can visit Arenal which is a live volcano and you can stand at the bottom and see the lava run down the side. How often can you say you’ve seen that on holiday???

As evening entertainment is mainly centred around the hotels offer excellent entertainment packages however if you want to be able to go into a town try Tamarindo which is like a surfing town with plenty of bars and restaurants along the beach with a very chilled out feel. There is even live street entertainment and a few clubs the atmosphere here is fantastic and also great for surfers as it has waves from the Pacific.

When you’re out and about shopping make sure you get some of the local coffee. This has to be the best coffee in the world in my opinion and I brought loads home-another reason to go back, I need to restock!!!

Anyone thinking of going on holiday to Costa Rica must! It is a fantastic place, the people are so friendly and I can truly say this was one of, if not the best holiday I have ever had!!!There really is something for everyone, regardless of their ages!!!

Party Central Ibiza!!!!!

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Me and my friends went to the Riviera Hotel in San Antonio Bay in Ibiza in July 2009 and had the best week of our lives. Holidays in Ibiza are to be in the party capital of the world and we partied all day and night. Right outside the hotel was one of the biggest pre bars in the resort and with us not being in the centre, drinks were a lot cheaper. You also have a selection of Spanish supermarkets and traditional restaurants at Spanish prices. A pack of 12 San Miguel lagers been 9 Euros and in San Antonio centre they were 4 Euro per bottle. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and taxi’s stop right on the doorstep. They all run on the meter so prices are cheap and always the same.

Ibiza holidays are so lively but the bay is a much more relaxed place to stay and wind down from a heavy night but is still within easy reach of the strip and all the clubs. If you’re after a great meal, the Cat and Parrott on the strip do home cooked meals at good prices. I would recommend the Bay for people who want good access to the centre without the hassle in the day. It is also good for the cheaper prices as I spent half as much this year in the Bay than the previous year when I stayed on the strip. The bay is in a better position for first time visitors to Ibiza but also a great location for veteran clubbers looking to go on a budget.
